Student''s industrial work experience Scheme (SIWES) was introduced to enhance the acquisition of marketable skills by students and graduates of Science and Technology in Nigeria. This work carried out the survey on the views of students in the three departments of the School of Applied Science, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria about the adequacy of the skills acquired during SIWES. Fifty questionnaires were used for the survey. From the data collected, many of the students suggested that the skills acquired are inadequate. This is because of short duration and lack of modern facilities in their place of industrial training. Consequently, the paper made a number of recommendations, which include: apprenticeship training for students to go up grade their technical skills among others.
