Beschreibung
Pesticides are used to control pests that reduce crop production. Their use in agriculture is increasing worldwide, and the growth trend is expected to continue for the next decades. Pesticides are toxic and care is always needed when handling them. Exposure to these pesticides is a common occupational risk for millions of farm workers worldwide due to use of toxic pesticides, wrong application techniques, poorly maintained or unsuitable spraying equipment and spraying without using personal protective equipment. Many people re-use empty pesticide containers for domestic food and water which contributes to exposure risks. This book provides reviewed safety guidelines that will help pesticide applicators to use pesticides safely and effectively in order to avoid poisoning.
