Beschreibung
Thermoelasticity describes the behaviour of elastic bodies under the influence of non - uniform temperature fields. It represents, therefore, a generalization of the theory of elasticity and the theory of heat conduction. It makes it possible to determine the stresses produced by the temperature field, and moreover, to calculate the distribution of temperature due to the action of internal forces which vary with time. Although the formulation of elastic problems, including the effect of temperature variation was studied by Duhamel, J.M.C in 1837, it is only during the last few decades active and systematic research has been conducted. The problems of thermo elasticity can be classified as follows.
