Beschreibung

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major cause of cancer mortality worldwide. The outcome of HCC depends mainly on its early diagnosis. To date, the performance of traditional biomarkers is unsatisfactory. Talins were the firstly identified cytoplasmic protein partners of integrins. Talin-1 (TLN1) plays a crucial role in cancer formation and progression. Here, our study aims to assess the diagnostic value of serum TLN1 compared to the most feasible traditional biomarker alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) for the diagnosis of HCC, additionally we developed a predictive model consisting of TLN1 and three routine laboratory tests for improving HCC diagnosis.
