Abu Kharbush Kamel Kilani is an Egyptian writer and writer. He turned to children's literature and became known as a pioneer of children's literature. He presented many wonderful works targeting children, and his works were translated into several languages, including Chinese, Russian, Spanish, English, and French. He was the first to address children on the radio and founded the first children's library in Egypt. Kamel Kilani Ibrahim Kilani was born in Cairo in 1897 AD. He memorized the Holy Qur'an when he was young and moved to Umm Abbas Primary School, then joined Cairo Secondary School, and joined the Old Egyptian University in 1917 AD. He also worked as a government employee in the Ministry of Endowments for thirty-two years, where he progressed through the career path until he became Secretary of the Supreme Endowments Council. He was also secretary of the Arab Literature Association and president of Al-Raja newspaper and the Modern Acting Club. He worked in the field of journalism and was interested in literature and the arts. Kilani adopted a distinctive approach and ingenious style in writing children's literature, as he insisted on the necessity of focusing on the classical language in order not to create a cultural rupture with the historical self. He mixed the pedagogical and didactic approach, and was keen to highlight the moral and normative aspects in his short stories. It also encouraged the development of children's artistic appreciation and knowledge skills. He focused on good qualities, noble qualities, and good behavior. Kilani made contributions to fields other than children's literature, as he translated and wrote about travel literature and history. He died in 1959 AD, leaving behind a great literary heritage that benefits children and adults.
